renaissance

if you've made it here, than you're just in time. anne got me thinking about how much this idea needed to be revitalized, she's taken the first step with her most recent post, so i just wanted to get the ball rolling for what will hopefully be some new comers.
it seems like there's a lot of non sense in the political world around us. a lot of people, i know i'm guilty as hell, get caught up in trying to ascribe things and prompt others to catch on to their concepts. this blog is meant to be a place where everyone puts forth ideas, giving and getting feedback in a cool way. it's really just that simple.
preferably, try to keep the jargain to a minimum. if i can, i'm sure you all can. keep it fresh. the idea is to have this be a space for discussing new ideas, coming up with new alternatives to those that are proving themselves stale. think the bailout is stupid, what would you do? have a plan for taxation, what is it? feeling oppressed as someone whose left handed, talk about it. all these things. just keep it new, keep it classy, and keep it relevant.

preface to a twenty volume suicide note by leroi jones

Lately, I've become accustomed to the way
The ground opens up and envelops me
Each time I go out to walk the dog.
Or the broad-edged silly music the wind
Makes when I run for the bus...

Things have come to that.

And now, each night I count the stars,
And each night I get the same number.
And when they will not come to be counted,
I count the holes they leave.

Nobody sings anymore.

And then last night, I tiptoed up
To my daughter's room and heard her
Talking to someone, and when I opened
The door, there was no one there...
Only she on her knees, peeking into

Her own clasped hands.
